Traffic is visible, measurable and easy to discuss. That does not make it the right diagnosis.
Traffic can hide a conversion problem
A business can attract more visitors while losing them because the positioning is unclear, the offer lacks relevance, proof is weak, the next step is confusing or follow-up fails after the enquiry.
Separate volume from quality
Leadership should distinguish total traffic from commercially useful attention. The important question is whether the right prospective customer is arriving with enough context and confidence to move forward.
Inspect the complete path
Discovery → message → website → proof → enquiry → qualification → follow-up → sale. A weak link anywhere in that sequence can make “get more traffic” the wrong priority.
The correct action might still be acquisition. But it should be chosen after the path is understood, not because traffic is the easiest metric to request.
